Notting Hill Carnival 2025: London Festival Guide

September 13, 20256 min read

Dance through Europe's largest street festival at Notting Hill Carnival with Caribbean music, costumes, and culture.

Notting Hill Carnival: Caribbean Spirit in London

Notting Hill Carnival is Europe's largest street festival and the world's second-largest carnival after Rio, attracting over 2 million visitors across two days. What began in 1966 as a small community response to racial tensions has become London's most vibrant celebration of Caribbean culture.

"Carnival represents the resilience and joy of the Caribbean community," explains Pepe Francis, a longtime carnival organizer. "The sounds, the food, the costumes—it's not a show for tourists, it's a living, breathing expression of who we are. Everyone's welcome to join, but remember you're joining us, not the other way around."
