Epiphany 2025: Three Kings Day Celebration

September 3, 20256 min read

Celebrate Epiphany on January 6th honoring the Three Wise Men with king cake, gift-giving, and global traditions.

Epiphany: The Feast of Three Kings

Epiphany, known as Three Kings Day (Día de los Reyes) in Spanish-speaking countries, celebrates the arrival of the Magi to visit the infant Jesus. In much of Latin America and Spain, this date—not Christmas—is the primary gift-giving day, with an estimated 80 million children receiving presents from the Three Kings.

"For Spanish children, the Three Kings are the real magic of the season," explains María García, a cultural historian at the University of Madrid. "Children write letters to the Kings, leave their shoes out, and wake to find gifts—just as American children do with Santa Claus."
